About Us
|
The Department of Computer Science and Communication Engineering (CSCE) at the Providence University was founded in 2004. Our vision is how to apply state-of-art computer and networking technologies to create, manage, and utilize digital contents in the information age. The department is the only one that offers this kind of programs in the region of central Taiwan . We aim to recruit students with talents and creativity. The curriculums are designed to provide students with solid training in fundamental skills and knowledge. We expect that our graduates can demonstrate strong expertise in professional areas and exhibit leadership to achieve organizational goals. Our young faculty members show ambition and enthusiasm in teaching, research, and services. In addition, a group of mentors provide on-demand tutoring service for students who need extra assistance. Initially, our facilities include two laboratories which focus on multimedia and networking administration, respectively.
• Encourage E-learning on the basis of internet technology We are training students, based on what they learned, to discover and develop the necessities for long-distance learning through computer network • Prepare whizzes for the internet communication techniques While communication industry is thriving, we are to instruct students in hope they will build up skills in developing wideband network frame and personal communication software • Open more courses around digitalized media software Digitalized media design, multimedia, and personal browsers are three primary choices. Combination of visual expression and media content is also discussed in our course knowledge. • Instruct means of information delivery management By utilizing our new multimedia laboratory, the course design shall be centered on skills of making motion pictures through which information is transferred.
• Expand facilities in relevant areas to build up an excellent infrastructure for conducting research and teaching • Strengthen relationships with industrial to create more co-op and employment opportunities for our students • Promote inter-discipline collaborations to broaden our vision • Develop graduate-level programs
• E-learning has become a popular method for gaining knowledge, and shall keep being our emphasis. • Due to fast outgrowth of wireless communication, we are into a post-PC era in which 4C (computer, communication, content and creativity) will replace PC's mainstreaming role. • Since communication industry is one of the major quests of the third science park, we shall aim at developing in the same manner. |
